The installation of an environmental monitoring system in Corfu focuses on the basic characteristics of the cultivation that are found in the “Theotoki Estate” on the island. The entire unit consists of a vineyard, a wine production unit and an agrotourism unit. Moreover, the company manufactures typical local varieties of wine, such as Robola and Kakotrygi, as well as Cabernet and Syrah maintaining complete all local production characteristics. The cultivation is located in a lowland area surrounded by semi-mountainous areas and a rural environment.
The pilot vineyard is located in central Corfu, west of Corfu Town in the municipal unit of Parision. The field of study concerns the wider area of Theotoki Estate in the so-called Livadi Ropa area located between the settlements Kouramaditika and Giannades (Map) belonging to the municipal apartments of Agios Ioannis and Giannades, respectively.
